Get up to speed with Zero-Emission Buses (ZEBs) through the High-Voltage Awareness Level 1 self-paced online course. Designed for all personnel who may be exposed to high-voltage circuits, this course equips you with the knowledge to identify electrical hazards and take preventive measures to ensure safety. Learn to recognize potential electrical hazards and common injuries, explore training requirements for transit personnel, identify important visual cues, and walk away with the information you need to stay safe around ZEBs.

Number of Hours/Days:

• 2 hours online over a 3-week period

In this course, participants will:

• Identify electrical hazards and describe the injuries they can cause
• Distinguish between the roles of Aware, Qualified, and Authorized personnel in a high-voltage environment
• List and recognize the visual cues that indicate the presence of hazardous voltage
• Download the Emergency Response Guide for your specific bus and learn how to disable the high-voltage system in an emergency
• Apply effective strategies to prevent electrical accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Compliance:

• All personnel are required to take and pass this course every 3 years. The course may be required sooner than the 3-year mark depending on significant changes, including:
  • Introduction of new vehicle model(s)
  • New technology or types of equipment
  • Technical Service Bulletins or engineering changes
  • Updates or changes to Electrical Safety Program, Emergency Response Plan, or Standard Operating Procedures
